Amish Thakar, Fine Art Studio

I knew about Amish Thakar on June, last year. My wife’s research went into his web site, fineart.com

“It’s about Indians weddings, Indians traditions… That’s a challenge…”, then she said.

Samantha, my wife, loves all about Indian traditions, from Kundalini until The Loto pose, Osho or Puna Institute.

Samantha and her friends are into it. For instance, Alejandro Echavarría, a camera man, video expert, spiritual and relaxed soul. Alejandro just came from a trip to La India. He spent about two months traveling. You can see his pictures by one click here!

Felipe, in a picture you’ll see it posted next to this paragraph, went to India two times to stayed in Puna Institute and had a lot of stories from it. Now, Felipe graduated as massage therapist, he just had the official title, because he’s always been the best hands around.

After that background, I met, finally, Amish Takkar. Simple and soft person. He is a master photographer specialized in Indian engagements, Indian weddings, Indian portraits… He is the king of that kingdom. He has a nice studio in Edison, one of the New Jersey areas with more Indian population.

Ask for Amish in that town. It seems like everybody knows him!

And when you see all those pictures he had taken for years posted all around his studio, you know you are talking to a master photographer.

Amish gave me the opportunity to go with him to an engagement party last January 12th. Raghu, his brother, made fun of me because Indian food is… too hot! Raghu is the video artist, though they switch cameras once in a while.

I love the whole experience. Amish works with great equipment; and he is so professional, so gently and so focus. He knows what he is doing.

And the party…

Beautiful dresses, hundreds of beautiful clothes, handmade; shine of all kind of rings, necklaces… Colors, colors and colors; great people, Goddess women…

I don’t know how much Amish may tolerate my anguish of experimentation and apprenticeship in photography. Buy I thank him for the chance.
